Bigotry
- Automatic judgement of a human individual's character, intelligence etc. based on that person's out-group status.
- Resistance to any change in the initial judgement, despite countervailing experience.
- Inability to comprehend and/or cope with the perception of success or superiority on the part of an out-group individual.
In common usage, "bigotry" mostly refers to racial bigotry, where race is the factor which identifies the out-group. In more general usage, "bigotry" justly describes similar unwholesome reactions where any factor whatsoever (e.g. social class, economic class) identifies the out-group.
...AND THE SCHOOL SYSTEM: The school system derives great benefit from institutionalized bigotry against less-schooled individuals. This principle is called meritocracy, and would be acceptable in an ideal situation. In the current situation, the concept of merit has become dangerously distorted, resulting in many wrongs.
...AND RACE REALISM: Note that bigotry is a wrong inflicted strictly on individuals. Race realism does not countenance bigotry, because race realism has nothing to say about the individual, other than that he is human and has human rights.
